By: Egbert Otter https://guitarfirstchord.com/top-150-greatest-guitar-players-of-all-time/#comment-229766 Tue, 28 Jul 2020 06:57:04 +0000 https://guitarfirstchord.com/?p=3217#comment-229766 Nice list. as said before , it makes me wonder what the criteria for a great guitarist is. for me personally there are points for; technical skill, transfering emotions/ ´the feel´ into the music, creativity, the ability to play different styles, writing songs, playing ´out of the box´ , improvising, a personal sound/style, etc. etc. To see Frank Zappa and guthrie govan on the same list as Johnny Ramone (don´t get me wrong I like the Ramones) seems out of (technical/creative) balance. Out of the millions of guitarists i would have a few names not make it on this list. But overal a lot of of overal great players who are justified to be amongst the greats. I especially appreciate to see Warren Haynes; one of the last still touring players who is unknown but played with all the greatest players (and with good reason, who does not want to play with Haynes ???)
