In my opinion it beats all the rest hands down. It is a home amp only , you can get all types of sounds at room level.

Sounds really good if you use it simply. Thnx

The 5Watt (4 watts more than Blackstar HT1R) will give it more headroom thus it will be cleaner. Above all the DSL5 can operate in both 1 & 5 watts. So 1 watts = bedroom practice & 5 watts = band practice or small club gigs.

I am currently looking at the Blackstar HT1R Limited Edition head and cab or the Marshall DSL5. I know both have great overdriven tones but which should have reverted clean tone ? FYI; I am playing mostly single could at the moment.

Unless you’re mic’ing them.

They’re not suitable at all to use on small gigs unless you’re playing with a cajon, congas, ekits or some weak percussion.

Hi Scott,
The Line 6 DT25 is a really great amp indeed. You can switch from 25 watts to 10 watts for home use or recording. A bit more expensive than the amps in this post, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Thanks for sharing.
Klaus

Hi Roberto,

The Bugera V5 is definitely a great simple 5 watt tube amp with good clean and overdrive sounds and a nice reverb.
