I used to do fingering styles for a few decades, but recently I have found that using a pick would produce clearer and sweeter sound.

Hi Chris,

Indeed, a lot of jazz players use their fingers instead of a pick.

I can always use the amplifier to get volume.

I understand that Joe Pass used this method quite a lot.

Now I don’t have that problem, don’t need the tape, and can fingerpicking and play with a pick. Still consider myself a beginner (3 years playing). Now my problem is getting a feel for soloing.
Thank you for a great blog.

The best fingerpicker…probably myself (hehe…just kidding. Probably Rolf Lislevand).
