Hi Dev-D,

Maybe the right question should’ve been “Are you trying to impress?”
It’s not that I mean that you should impress someone, but rather that you should ask yourself if you are and who it is that you’re trying to impress.
And what does that say?

I agree with you totally… I like that “Impress Yourself”

Best regards,
Klaus Crow

Some of these questions are really good. They had me thinking a lot as I often wonder about what lies in my future as a musician. The only question I didn’t really like is 25- Who are you trying to impress? I don’t think anyone should live to impress another person or even really strive to. I believe the only proper answer to that question is “myself”. Even then, everyone should expect greatness from themselves as it’s something we are all capable of. Wow, look at me.. Getting all side tracked! Anyway, good post. Thanks for sharing!

Just picked back the guitar again for the last 1 and a half month after a 15 year hiatus. I got myself a Les Paul Epiphone (literally my first electric guitar) and so far have only survived by direct connection to the amp (Peavey 158 Rage). I’m thinking of getting effect pedals to add colours to the presently bland sound. Any suggestions for basic pedals for beginners like me? FYI, I’m into blues & hard rock & my favourite guitarists are Slash and Zakk Wylde. I plan to do a bit of soloing – hopefully I dont sound like I’m punching above my weight.
You can email to me your reply. Thanks!
