Hi Native,

It’s good that you learn to play scales properly and up to speed, but at the same time you need to learn to make melody with the scales.
Make use of bend ups, hammer ons, pull offs, slides, etc. Learn licks that are based around the scale.
And very important is learn good phrasing. (playing with dynamics, pauses, the expressive shaping of the notes)

It certainly made me think and after about ten minutes i found myself using open strings again instead of the 5 on the 6542 and 4 on the 3. I suppose its hard to break old habits. But its good if you need to change key (Unless you are in Cb – on the third floor!)
