Most of my past guitar teachers unfortunately failed to teach much in the way of building a chord vocabulary so now I am having to do remedial work a year later. Fortunately my current teacher is big on chord vocabulary and using it in chord progressions with different rhythms for song purposes. Chords also help when you want to play arpeggios.

I love john mayer music alot , I have learned some songs of other artist by transcribing but I dont know why I just cant hear and find notes of mayer songs. I believe im still a beginner level guitarist.. So can u give me some tips to play like john mayer… Also I struggle alot playing licks and chords together….. I learned 5 shapes pentatonic scales and major scales from your site, so now im learning 3rd and 6th intervals and some basic fingerstyle shapes just to sound like mayer so what next I should learn ? … It wd be very useful if u give some tips to sound like him both acoustically and electrically….

Some of these posts are real quality material that many books (solely riding on the capitalist coat-train for a quick buck) just completely ignore. Thank you so much for putting together your thoughts and insights – they are so very helpful and want to encourage you in all your other endeavors. May God bless you and continue to fill with you his light and infinite creative source.
